Restaurant & Events
Vínland restaurant will be a one of a kind restaurant, open for lunch and a light afternoon meal, for post & pre vineyard tour and passer-by's. The restaurant will be located in a large greenhouse where the earthy vineyard atmosphere will make it spectacular and cosy. Food served will be specially paired with various wines available on glass.
In the wine cellar there will be a small intimate dining experience available for small groups and special occasions, where the chef will cook on open fire in front of the guests. The Vínland Cellar dining will include carefully selected wines and waitering by an experienced sommelier.
During evenings Vínland restaurant will be available for special event groups, able to host up to 300 people in seats and around 500 in standing receptions or concerts.
Davíð Örn Hákonarson
Davíð Örn has gained most of his experience at michelin starred restaurants as a sous chef such as Herman, Grønbech & Churchill and Kong Hans Kælder.
He moved to Paris in the summer of 2016 and took over as a head chef at Restaurant Co in the 18th district where he makes modern scandinavian-mediteranian food, in a casual fine dining presentation, served in his own personal way in a quirky and relaxed atmosphere.
Since returning to Iceland in 2019, Davíð has managed the F&B department of Hotel Húsafell and made several guest appearances and menu specials at various restaurants in Iceland.
Most recently, Davíð has become locally known for his 2 TV shows; „Allt úr Engu“ where he teaches audiences how to prepare delicious meals from what's leftover in the fridge, & „Matarboð“ when he visits various locations around the world, learning about where the food we eat originates from and making a feast using local ingredients.
